For those who don't know, my grandpa came from Kinmen (or 金門 in traditional Chinese) which translates directly to "Golden Door". Kinmen is geographically closer to China (Xiamen to be specific) as compared to Taiwan despite still being under the control of latter. Which explains why I have relatives living there, as well as Taipei.
